Palm oil plantations around the world continue to expand, with Indonesia emerging as the largest producer of palm oil globally. The total area of palm oil plantations worldwide has reached 26.9 million hectares.
In Indonesia, these plantations are spread across several provinces, with West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and North Sumatra being the regions with the largest palm plantation areas.
More than 75% of the total palm oil production is used for food products, particularly cooking oil. In addition, palm oil is also processed into cosmetic products, cleaning agents, and even eco-friendly biofuels.
